Program Overview

The LLB (Hons) degree is designed to equip students with knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to launch a rewarding career as a legal professional. In line with UWL’s distinctive focus on law in action, ANC law students will be taught by experts in both academic and legal practice.

The LLB (Hons) degree will also allow students to focus on applying knowledge in practice through real-world legal scenarios. All modules are taught with reference to current legal practice, ensuring students remain up-to-date with ongoing changes in the law profession.

Forms of assessment include essays, pre-released exams, timed exams, multiple-choice questions, presentations, and portfolios.

LLB Entry Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the LLB programme, applicants must:

  • Obtain three (3) Simple (S) passes at the G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) examination (in one sitting), which is already included in the website.
  • Have a Credit (C) pass in English at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L), and
  • Have a Credit (C) pass in either Sinhala or Tamil at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L).
